A moment to remember.

So, Obama is now our new president. How about that? As I was watching his speech, I'm not sure, but maybe it's the music CNN played in the background, the people and their expressions or Obama's speech, but...I felt a bit sentimental. I felt almost tender towards them. (the people there)

I saw their expressions, and people looked tearful, happy, and most of all...hopeful.  All their hopes and dreams...their hearts were in their eyes as they  looked at this man who is to be their new president.

And yet I feel as if we're heartbeats away from something...something...

Change...it's going to happen, but, have mercy, I feel as if the rug is about to be pulled from under our feet.

Perhaps it's the pessimist in me...

I'm in love....

I must confess. I fell in love today. It just...happened. I can't explain it. It was love at first sight.

Isn't it beautiful? It's fantastic!!!!! My Ford Escort would love it as much I do. I've made it my new background.

I must say this is unusual a bit because I don't typically care about cars. Yeah, I see nice ones here and there, but this one...WOW>

Music

Has anyone ever heard of Pandora Radio at pandora.com ? It's a pretty neat site that allows you to play a variety of music for free (not download, play). I like it.  Yes, that was really random, but I wanted to post something.

I didn't do much. Took passport pictures, went to the bookstore only to find out it was closed, got lost on the way home, picked up friends who didn't have a ride and now I'm home for the day.

I love the funnies. My top favorites are For Better or For Worse and Jump Start, but I also like reading Luann and Arlo and Janis. Sometimes Pearls before Swine has some funny stuff too. So...here are a few that have made me smile, laugh and even go "awww, how sweet" or "That's so true, haha!"  Enjoy!

Hmm...there's much going on, but nothing to complain about. I'm just trying to keep a positive mind about the new place I'll be working at and the other important projects I'll be working on as well.

Staying positive really keeps one encouraged. I know, I know, that's stating the obvious, but I think that's one truth that can't be said enough. :)

Besides, all I have to do is look at the news to know that things could be a lot worse.

My thoughts: Sometimes there are just no words to adequately describe the heinous acts people commit. I don't want to know why a man would do this to his own child. I just want to know he won't have an opportunity to do such a thing again. The saddest thing about this is that there are stories similar to this that won't be brought to light, there are men like this who won't be brought to face the consequences of their actions.

What are your thoughts?

I read this article about a young man who killed himself after the VT shootings.  I read some of the comments on the story and some of them were just really thoughtless. It ticked me off. I took like thirty minutes writing my comment, hit the post button and then afterwards a note came up saying that CNN reviews all comments and due the high volume of comments received, not all comments are posted. I'm like "what?" So, I'm going to post my thoughts about this on LJ. The article is below. You can read it here or click the link that will take you to the CNN website.

I didn't do much. I just took a buddy grocery shopping. Today felt like a Sunday. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. *sigh* I need a pretty picture to look at.

It still shocks me that people can sink to such levels. It's like, what are you thinking?

Navy SEAL paid ultimate price to save buddies

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/04/08/seal.medal/index.html

I was reading this article and it's a tragedy, the loss of life, and it's amazing, the courage this person displayed.  However, there are many people who do this every day that we don't hear about.  To them, they are not being courageous, they're simply acting on instinct and the desire to see others out of danger.  I think extreme situations such as war can bring out the best and the worst in people.  In this case it was the former.  Okay, obviously I've rambled on too much about this.

Well, I've remembered livejournal.  It's not that I forgot about it, more like other things took priority to the point where I didn't  think about it. :p
But anyhow, I was reading a news article and I checked out the comments and one of them led back to here. So, I thought I might as well check out my account and here I am.
